i always wanted my daughter Keziah to learn and develop the interest on how to cook or bake at a very young age. if only money does not matter to me and is always available, i could have let her enrol to a cooking class so she can also be productive this summer. but since i have the knowledge in basic baking i decided to just expose her the skill by myself. i find Choco Crinkles as one of easiest and simplest cookies to bake as a start up. baking together is one of the best way also to bond with my daughter. Oh yes, we had fun really. Here’s the ingredients:

1/2 cup oil

3/4 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup powdered sugar

Mix oil, cocoa, and sugar. Blend in one egg at a time until well blended. Add vanilla. Stir flour, baking powder, and salt into oil mixture; chill several hours or overnight. Drop a teaspoon of dough into powdered sugar; roll and shape into a ball. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees. DO NOT OVERBAKE! Makes 6 dozen.
