How to Remove Scratches from Prescription Lenses
Even though you try to be gentle with your eyeglasses, accidents happen. The glasses may fall, or they may rub against another item in your bag or pocket. They scratch! All you can think about is that you never took scratch insurance out when you bought your glasses. Relax, you can easily remove those scratches by using a soft cloth and some toothpaste.
1. Dab a little toothpaste (use regular toothpaste) onto the cotton, wool or soft cloth. Gently rub the lens in small circles.
2. Continue to rub for about ten seconds. Then wipe off the toothpaste.
3. Remove all the toothpaste with water and a clean cloth.
4. Look to see if the scratch is still there. If it is then repeat until it is removed.
