I can’t help but laugh when I read from a magazine about the statement of a 17-year old gay that whenever he wanted to stop the homophobic from attacking him, he would simply disarm them through his clothes. He would wear short shorts, even fishnet stockings and parade on his Gay Pride T Shirt with a statement that says,’ I’m gay and you can’t do anything about it,’. Whenever he is in that kind of clothing nobody would dare confront him. However, whenever he dresses in “normal”, there is about 50 times a day that people would call him a “fag”.
I have nothing against gays in fact it is great to see so many homosexual who are proud and freely celebrate their sexual orientation. For me, they are no different. They are real people.
However, it must not easy being a gay. According to that same article, homosexuals are six times more likely to commit suicide than heterosexuals and more are alcoholics. Unfortunately, some gays, lesbians and bisexuals who cannot cope up the moral pressure and the prejudices of the society would resort to drug abuse as a solution or escape. Others would use drug as a means to numb the feelings of being different, to relieve emotional pain or to reduce inhibitions about their sexual feelings.
If you think your love one who have problem in substance abuse, bring him/her to Ambrosia Treatment Center, they proovide drug rehab and addiction treatment.
