I remember when my son Kevin was just a little boy; he wanted me to buy him a skateboard. I turned him down with explanation that I’m so afraid that he will just injure himself with that kind of sport. Besides, I told him that if I buy him that expensive thing plus the necessary protective gear, I will be forced to supervise him while at the skateboarding park, have to make sure that the skateboard ramps are safe which I no longer have time because I still have to nurse her sister who‘s just a baby then. Shhhhh! Actually I was just making excuses to my Kevin. The truth is – during that time I simply can’t afford to buy him the stuff. Well, who says single parenthood is easy?
