Single-Parenting
Author: MARU // Category: UncategorizedRaising a family is difficult enough. But it’s even more difficult for single parents struggling to make ends meet. They don’t need more obstacles. They need more opportunities. - Bill Richardson
I am a single mom and I can’t think of any other task that requires more courage and strength than single parenting. It’s not just a simple matter of responsibility. Trying to be a loving, nurturing mom while struggling with financial strains, housework schedules, children activities, and the need for social life is enough to drive even the most energetic solo moms to the edge of frenzy.
Tough responsibilities of single-parenting become more and more difficult when we are weighed down by heavy emotional baggages. If you are a single parent just like me, the list of “baggage items” like self-pity, depression, guilt, anger, envy, might be dragging you down from time to time. Been a solo-parent for 16 years already and here’s my piece of thoughts about the said baggages. There are no shortcuts in working to overcome those painful obstacles. There are no easy answers as well. However, no matter how difficult the situation, you should always have the presence of mind. Move. Be practical. One should gather all the senses and face the reality.

"Oh she takes care of herself. She can wait if she wants. She's ahead of her time. Oh and she never gives out. And she never gives in. She just changes her mind..."
-- Billy Joel's "She's Always A Woman To me"
