Probably each one of us is aware that almost every single business today uses barcodes in their products. But what’s in a barcode? In a bar code, you will not see the price and description of an item; what you will see is the “product number” that consists of 12 digits.

Primarily, a bar code is just a reference number found for example on food items at grocery stores. When the barcode scanners read the code of the item, the reader transmits it to the computer where the pertinent detailed data of a product is stored. That’s it.
